Books To Read

It looks like 2014 is a good year for books being made into movies. There are 16 of them!!! I don’t know about you, but I love to read the book first before the movie.  There have been times where I didn’t know that a movie was based off a book first. Here is the list of the books.

Row 1

1. Labor Day by Joyce Maynard

2. The Monuments Men by Robert M. Edsel and Bret Witter

3. Winter’s Tale by Mark Helprin

4. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

5. A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby

6. Divergent by Veronica Roth

Labor Day: My Thoughts: I’ve seen commercials for this movie. I had no idea it was a book! I’m anxious to read the book now.

Monuments Men: My Thoughts: This is a great book/movie for my husband. He’s a big Military fan.

Vampire Academy: My Thoughts: I absolutely loved this series! I am very excited it’s being turned into a movie. I hope it lives up to the books in my mind. I also have to admit, i’m anxious to see who they cast as Dimitri.

Divergent My Thoughts: I saw the movie trailer for this as part of the previews before the Catching Fire movie. My daughter and I loved it. This book is high on my “tbr” list now.

Row 2

7. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

8. The Hundred-Foot Journey by Richard C. Morais

9. The Giver by Lois Lowry

10. Dark Places by Gillian Flynn

11. This Is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper

This is where I leave you: My Thoughts: I had this book on my tbr list for awhile. I plan to get to it sooner than later.

Row 3

12. The Maze Runner by James Dashner

13. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

14. Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand

15. Wild by Cheryl Strayed

16. Serena by Ron Rash

The Maze Runner: My Thoughts: I heard this was a great book. I’m moving it up on my tbr list.

Gone Girl: My Thoughts: This is yet another book that’s been on my tbr list for awhile. Moving it up

Unbroken: My Thoughts: I tried to read to this awhile ago. I just couldn’t get into it. I will give it another try though after I read the others.

Which books are you anxious to see the movie of from this list?

I’m going to have ankle surgery in a few weeks. I will be doing a lot of reading. I plan to alternate between an indie author and one of these. Now I know what I’ll be reading while I recover!

Oh this is good. I can watch for them to go on sale and grab them before the movie comes out. Thanks, maybe a Kindle version is available for cheap.
