The calendar is a pdf file. It’s free to print and use for personal projects. I downloaded it from Splitcoaststampers. A very talented member there makes a calendar every year that is shared freely to download and use on personal projects. You can not sell any projects you make using the calendar.

This calendar was very easy to make. I was able to use up some of my scraps of paper as well since I didn’t need a full sheet.

First I decided what I holiday I wanted to showcase each month. I made this for a friend of mine. Her birthday is in June so I made June a Happy Birthday theme.

The first thing I did was print out calendar and trim it down so that each month was a separate. The picture frame had a thin piece of paper in it as a background. I used that to measure the main background color. I choose purple because that is my friend’s favorite color.

I based the background size of each month on the size of the monthly calendar. I have a lot of scrapbook paper so I tried to use paper that is themed to the holiday for that month.

After I had the colors figured out,  I then went through my stamps to find ones to use for that month. I have a ton of stamps so that wasn’t hard to do. I colored in the stamped image with either markers or colored pencils.

It did not take long to make this calendar. I made it in about 2 days. I didn’t work on it all day long either. The hardest part was going through all my paper and deciding which to use.

Completed Calendar:

This is what all the pages look like completed.

Finished pages

To assemble the calendar I punched two small holes in the top of each page with my crop o dile. You can use a regular hole punch as well. I put the pages together in order. I glued a thin piece of kraft paper to the back of the pages to give it a bit more support.

I then glued the attached calendars to the acrylic frame. Now it’s a customized, hand crafted tear away monthly calendar for the whole year.

I hope you enjoyed this craft and enjoy making one yourself. This is also a great craft to do with children.
