Curious Chef: Real Kids Cooking Tools

Curious Chef is a great company with real kids cooking tools! They are BPA free, heat safe, and dishwasher safe. Well, at least the kids baking set I received is. (I can’t state for all the others on heat safe!)

curiouschefThe Curious Chef 3 Piece Baking Set comes with a stainless steel whisk, a nylon frosting spreader, and a nylon cookie turner. They have contoured handles are all ergonomically designed and soft touch button grips. All of these are designed to make it easier for kids to help in the kitchen and safely. Curious Chef has some great recipes for you to try in the kitchen with your little one!

To use our Curious Chef baking tools, we decided to bake a cake! I picked what is supposed to be a nice simple recipe. I’ve been very curious about the cakes made with soda. There’s a bunch of different soda cakes, but I wanted to try the Creamsicle cake.

3 Ingredient Creamsicle cake:

You need:

1 box of white cake mix

12oz of Orange Soda

1 tub of frosting

Tools needed:

Curious Chef stainless steel whisk

Curious Chef nylon frosting spreader

Curious Chef nylon cookie turner (a.k.a. a spatula)

1 13×9 pan, if using a glass casserole dish like mine, grease it

Mixing Bowl

Oven (okay well you should know oven.)

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350, if you have an oven like mine. You’ll have plenty of time to whisk your mix.

Combine your box of cake mix with the orange soda. *Whisk until there’s only a few lumps.*

DO NOT ADD OTHER INGREDIENTS ON THE BOX!!!

Pour into pan, smooth out nicely using the the Curious Chef frosting spreader.

Place in oven. Cook as directed. *28-33 Minutes*

Allow to cool. *Recommend an Hour*

Frost with Vanilla or Cream Cheese Frosting.

Cut and serve using the Curious Chef spatula!

orangesodacakeThis is our FIRST time making our 3 ingredient Creamsicle cake with our Curious Chef kids cooking tools! We are thrilled with how well they worked and how easy they were to use. My daughter truly enjoyed doing it. I wish our cake could have came out a little better. I used French Vanilla cake mix, and I think it may have overpowered my orange soda. I could barely taste the orange in it. Next time MORE orange soda and a white mix, not vanilla flavored. My daughter was impatient to frost, so we had it melting on there after waiting only a half hour for it to cool.

Curious Chef offers other kitchen utensils and gadgets. They have rolling pins, kids knives for fruit and veggie prep, measuring cups, kids pizza cutters and much, much more. I love Curious Chef and how they allow a kid to truly be hands on in the kitchen. They help with an important life skill everyone needs at some age, cooking! My daughter loves helping in the kitchen and it becomes frustrating for her. I’m so happy this company exists to help make cooking easier on little hands!
