Easy Tomato Ground Beef Recipe

Tomato Ground Beef

I don’t know about you but I love quick and easy meals. This is also a busy time of year for a lot of families. I know there are a lot of end of the school year functions, graduations, and sports are still going on. With the warmer weather and the fact it gets darker later, families would rather spend time together than in the kitchen slaving over the hot stove.

This recipe only uses 6 ingredients. You probably always have these items on hand. It makes for a great dinner to make when on the run or right before payday. It’s also easy to add your own variations to it.

Tomato Ground Beef Ingredients

1 large onion, diced

1 1/2 lb ground beef

1 teaspoon salt

1 green pepper, diced

2 cans of condensed tomato soup

1 teaspoon garlic powder

In a medium skillet brown ground beef with the onion, green pepper, and spices. Drain ground beef mixture.  Add soup to the ground meat. To make it a complete meal add a cup of cooked rice.

That’s all there is to this dish. Sometimes I add extra ground meat to the dish, if you do that you may need to add an extra can of the tomato soup. This time I did something different. I used old fashioned tomato rice soup. It has rice already added to the soup.  I used two cans of that and 1 can of condensed tomato soup. No one in my family noticed a difference.

You can use different spices or different peppers as well. I’ve made this dish using red, orange and yellow sweet peppers. Let me know if you try this recipe and how your family likes it.
