The Golden Boots DVD, the latest Peppa Pig release from Entertainment One, splashes onto shelves from coast-to-coast on Tuesday, March 8. The brand-new DVD features ten snortingly-funny “peppasodes,” including: “The Golden Boots,” “Horsey Twinkle Toes,” “Shadows,” Kylie Kangaroo,” “Captain Daddy Dog,” “The Little Boat,” “Going Boating,” Grampy Rabbit in Space,” Desert Island,” and “The Fish Pond.” The Golden Boots DVD is 80 minutes long and there’s 10 Peppa Pig episodes in total. With over an hour of Peppa Pig fun, your little one will enjoy going on their muddy puddle adventures! My daughter is a huge fan of the show. So much so, she even talks in a British accent after watching it. (Cute, but annoying. Mum-May, Dad-day.)

The Golden Boots shine and sparkle on the cover of the DVD. My daughter loves the show in general, but adding some flair to a DVD cover really attracts her more to it. These episodes are wonderfully entertaining. Peppa Pig teaches kids about friendship, cooperation, and feelings. (Although at times, I think they could do better at portraying this.) I don’t always like Peppa Pig’s attitude, but you got to take the show in stride really. My daughter hasn’t mimicked the behaviors shown really, other than the accent. She has picked up the urge to jump in puddles a bit more, but she also has learned she can’t jump in puddles if she’s not wearing boots!
Some people really tear Peppa Pig down, but if you have conversations after the episodes, you can see what your child really learned and you can help them understand. TV should bring conversations to the table. Especially with young children, they don’t always comprehend what they see and we need to discuss that. My mom used to ask us after every show we watched, “what did we learn?” If we could pick up something valuable in it, she allowed us to continue to watch it. We actually managed to convey a good argument and lessons learned for shows like The Simpsons growing up, which many have argued is senseless as well.
I’m a fan of Peppa Pig, my daughter loves it. I will continue to allow her to watch it for as long as she wants, because I discuss it. We grow from it and learn with it. She’s learned many things about sharing and friendship with Peppa Pig, and I’m glad.
