I loved these spices and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of spices are in each package. 4oz goes a long way for spices. This really is the perfect spice for any kind of meat. I’ve used it on beef and chicken, my whole family loved it.
When in the package the scent is over powering. However when cooking it breaks down and literally melts into what you are cooking. It’s a nice subtle blend of spices and not over intense for your taste buds.
In the package the seasonings are a light greyish color. When cooked it blackens (thus the “char” part of the name) but is not burnt. I was very happy to see on the packaging it tells you that this will happen during cooking.
On their website there is a how to use section. You can find directions on how to use the spices depending on the cooking method you use. I love that the company does that.
