Mackenzie Day is reeling from the death of her best friend, Maddie. She’s lost her rock, her partner in crime, and her only family in one fell swoop. With that loss, Mac has lost track of herself, and the things she cares about, including her mind-reading abilities.
When the opportunity for vengeance arises, she becomes so blinded by her hatred that she no longer recognizes the person she’s become. As her empathy towards others slips away, even she can’t believe how far she is willing to go to claim justice for Maddie.
Without her moral compass and her sense of self, how can she possibly stop a group of mind-reading terrorists from killing tens of thousands of people? Can she see past her anger to care about anything besides retribution? How can she save her newfound family, when she can’t even tell the difference between herself and those who are truly unforgiven?

I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All of the opinions in this review are 100% my own.
This is the second book in the Unseen Trilogy. I’ve read both books in 1 day! They are that good.
In this book Mackenzie is dealing with the grief of losing her best friend, her one and only family she’s ever had. Everyone deals with grief in their own way. Mackenzie’s grief has left her in a deep dark place.
Unfortunately Mackenzie’s grief has put herself and the rest of the Unseen in danger. She can’t concentrate properly on her training. All she thinks about is revenge for Maddie’s death.
There is a job to be done and Mackenzie must pull herself together to get it done.
My heart went out to Mackenzie. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have everything in your life be turned upside down in a blink of an eye.
I can’t wait for the 3rd and final book that is due out in September though. It’s going to be a long wait.
